Is my donation tax deductible?
As of right now (01.26.20) we are not yet a 501(c)3 although we are working with our attorney who has submitted our paperwork for approval. We have recently been approved by the Texas Secretary of State as a non-profit corporation. It is understanding that donations made within 27 months of a corporation becoming an official non-profit should still be tax deductible, but we cannot guarantee this. We will be updating as soon as we have our official 501(c)3 status!
Where will my money go?
At this time, everyone who helps with the Lyra Lionheart Project is a volunteer. Your donation will go towards our operating costs, fundraising efforts (such as our Family Fiesta), and towards our “Go Fund” which will provide direct support to families with children in the NICU and PICU by providing financial assistance through meal card donations and grocery store gift certificates. We often send Uber gift cards which also allows parents to use the money for rides as well.
How much should I donate?
However much you want! Most of our fundraising in 2019 was done by individual donors giving small amounts! We’ll be thrilled with $5.00!
