Our Mission and Goals

Our goal is to provide support to parents who have children in the NICU and PICU. When parents have a child in the NICU or PICU they are facing one of the hardest times in their lives. They have a child (or children) who need a lot of medical care, can’t be at home, and with no guarantee of the outcome.

At the same time parents still have to manage food (both for themselves and any children at home), transportation (including parking fees), and medical costs. Parents who stay in the PICU often find themselves without basic toiletries or even a change of clothes if they are airlifted from out of town.

The Lyra Lionheart Project was created to help provide support to these families.

At this time, we are based in San Antonio, Texas and serve North Central Baptist and Methodist Children’s Hospitals. As we grow, we can’t wait to increase our reach and the scope of our programs.

Toiletries

We collect and donate basic toiletries to both the NICU and the PICU so that parents have the ability to shower and feel as refreshed as possible.

Meals

Taking care of meals while you have a child in the NICU/PICU is tough and expensive. We provide meal and grocery gift cards and snacks for NICU/PICU parents.

Transportation

We hope to be able to help parents with Uber gift cards, gas cards, and parking fees to help offset the transportation costs that NICU/PICU parents incur.

Let’s build something together.
